We Don’t Just Clean, We Care
Our story began in 2001, when our parents, Ahmed and Marouse, opened a small self-service launderette in Shepperton. They started with almost nothing – just a few secondhand machines and a vision built on hard work. But from those humble beginnings, they laid the foundation for something lasting. What began as a simple village laundrette would go on to become a trusted family business, now proudly serving the community over two decades later.
Fast forward 24 years, and the second generation – myself, Jay, along with my brothers Mo and Ilyass – are honoured to carry that legacy forward. Together, we’ve grown Thames Laundry & Dry Cleaning. into a modern garment care specialist while staying true to the heart of what our parents built: trust, quality, and genuine care.
Our Mission
We aim to deliver the ultimate garment care experience – from everyday laundry at our in-store facilities to cleaning high-end designer garments with expert precision. Whether it’s tailoring to ensure the perfect fit or offering the convenience of free pick-up and delivery, our goal is to make laundry effortless, accessible, and exceptional for every customer.
Today, we offer a complete range of services – from day-to-day laundry and delicate dry cleaning to expert alterations, tailoring, and garment repair for the pieces you love most. In 2021, we expanded with our second branch in Lower Sunbury, which proudly matches the high standard set by our flagship store in Shepperton.
But we didn’t stop there. In a world full of dry cleaners, we chose to stand out – investing in cutting-edge wet cleaning technology that uses only water and biodegradable detergent. It’s a safer, greener way to clean garments traditionally considered ‘dry clean only’ – better for your clothes, and better for the environment.
We’ve been proud to receive recognition for our commitment to quality and sustainability, winning the Shepperton & Lower Sunbury Rotary Club Business Award and being named finalists for Best Sustainable Business in Spelthorne. But the greatest reward is the trust and loyalty of our customers, many of whom have been with us since day one.
